My MacBook Pro is Dead…

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

Yes…Oh d’Horreur! It has happened to me… I cannot believe it. For the last few weeks my MacBook Pro has been acting up, and sure enough, I finally hit “Yes” on the updater and it went to sleep and never woke back up. I held it in my lap as I watched while it fried it’s own little brain to death. The guys at the Genius Bar said there’s nothing left and that it has to go “away” for ten days to get a whole new brain. Ten Days. I can’t just not work for ten unexpected days! So, it looks like I’m getting myself a snazzy newly remodeled MacBook Pro tomorrow… I hate getting first run anything, but I would lose more money in business in those two weeks than it would cost to get a whole new set up.

So it looks like a nifty new MBP for me, the loved one will get my old guy when it gets back from “away”. I might even spring for the Time Capsule so I get the automatic, periodic, wireless backing-up. Either way I am just wishing I were more excited about getting a new computer, but I am having a hard time dealing with what’s lost… it’s been weeks since my last back up. Back Up, People! BACK UP!

I am reporting from my loved one’s Powerbook G4. Tomorrow, my new MacBook Pro. Yeah.

Everyone, please…

Go out today and vote. Vote for Obama. Yep. There. I said it. I am deliberately going to tell you what to do. Not sway you with facts, or tug you with tales, and coerce you with figures and statistics. I am going to flat out tell you right up the side of the head, with the least amount of modesty and humility, to please: go vote for Barack Obama. Go. Now. Do it. Don’t think about it, let me do the thinking for you. Just go. Do as I say. Vote for Obama. Make him president and let the world become a better place for a while. Please. Really. It’s the right thing. Obama. ‘08.

NoGoodz Lives! Hoorays!

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Well, our national economy is collapsing by the minute, my bank was chopped up and sold for parts, and Lou has a rash, but beyond that I have gone ahead and created a whole new format for my online apparel and art company. After weeks and weeks of later and later nights of hard and harder work I have finally revamped and relaunched the No Good Designs website as NoGoodz into a new online periodical (or ezine) where I will detail all that I find interesting within this rich tapestry of cultural, creative, culinary, and down right crazy influences that make up this world I call home.

Each week I will be spending my nights writing articles on all of the amazing artists I have had the pleasure to meet (or atleast see their work), all the great shops and restaurants that I have frequented in my travels, and all of the amazingly out-there things I have found all over the internet. So far I have suped the site up with a full compliment of articles, a new shop, a newsletter, a social network, a Facebook and Myspace page, and it’s own Twitter feed. My hopes are that through the releasing of new shirts and pins each week, drumming up interest by drumming out interesting articles, and filling the empty spaces with ads from Google and the like (hint, hint: click some ads people) I will be able to grow this site into a feasible form of passive revenue that will help stave off the growing bills from buying Lou food and toys. You heard me people, I’m telling you to love my new site and fall prey to it’s commercialist whiles so that Lou can be a happier pup. How can you resist?

I will keep this site up and running, albeit slightly less frequent then usual, and move some of my more interesting finds onto the pages of NoGoodz. Come and read and join and enjoy.

Oh, and the NoGoodz Network has…
